No Longer Tweeting

Oh yes, almost 3,500 tweets I deleted my twitter account. Well, it was 'hacked' first. I never really knew what happened. All I know was that I couldn't access it and I couldn't find it. Oh well, bygones. So I created a new one. But I lost interest. Partially because gaining 170 followers wasn't easy (LOL), and tweeting with only 20 followers was  kind of a bore. Yes, I'm mababaw that way. :)

Do I miss it? Yes, a bit. But I think that for a time, I were doing stuffs so I can have something interesting to tweet. Now, I do stuffs without thinking how well I can coin words to tweet. I'm still on Facebook though. Oh, and I've re-loved Tumblr again so I'm back there! :)

Major Saving coming up!

Oh yes...I need to save money BIG TIME. I've got five trips coming up..and yes I have booked a flight a year from now. Lol.

I've got Coron this August. Malaysia-Brunei on November. Boracay on January 2011. Cebu- Bohol on March 2011. Singapore on June 2011.

All trips are booked except for Boracay. Gosh. My plans to buy the DSLR by middle of this year are pushed back to..I don't know when. And these are just the planned trips, I know somewhere in between, invites would arrive and I'll have a hard time saying no. I wish I were a rich girl, so I won't have to save and wait when I get my eyes on something.

I ain't complaining though. Life is fun! (...sometimes) Lol

Me and My lazy ass

I don't know if the events these past few days has something to do with my laziness but I haven't been to the gym last week. I have no complains with Gold's Gym... they have the best staff, great work out classes, lots of equipment. So I only have me and my lazy ass to blame. I wasn't exactly lying around though. I jogged around the area, played frisbee and badminton. Still...not enough to help lose that darn 15 pounds (I weigh 121 pounds...EEEW!). It's like a flash message that plays in my head every morning...15 POUNDS! 15 POUNDS! 15 POUNDS!

An athlete friend has been teasing my flabs lately and I think he's really serious when he told me to go on a diet. He volunteered to be my trainer but I declined 'coz he scares the hell out of me when he's being Dexter Determinado. He was giving me the are-you-sure-you-want-to-eat-that look when I ordered a seafood fettuccine for dinner last saturday. He probably gave up on any hopes of me having any self-discipline so he gave me a Relive Ultrim+ to help me with my diet...it's supposed to constrict my appetite. I've tried it this morning...and it's pretty effective. I only had a few bites of menudo, raisin bread and milk for lunch. I know...not a good combo. But my taste buds decide for me. Combination, my ass.

I promised Jena I'll join her for streetdancing tonight...but guess what? My laziness got in the way. Lol.

Seriously though...I need to lose weight...FAST! Oh, I see ads like these in mall comfort rooms...Hmmm? :))

Old School Trip

Spontaneous trip. Baguio. 2010.

I missed Baguio. It was a second home when I was a kid when my Dad was training for PNP. The last time I was there was 2001, I think. Felt great to be back. And it was a great break from the heat of Manila. Had fun going back to the good 'ol places. :)

Second time around

Camara-Capones-Anawangin
April 9-10, 2010

Second year in a row to go to island hopping in Zambales. The islands there never fail to amaze me.

We're actually planning to go again next year but we'll trek and actually camp at Anawangin instead of the usual island hopping. Can I do it kaya? :)

05.10

Yay! First time voter! I went at the polling precinct at around 8 in the morning, it was chaos at the San Antonio Vill Poling Precincts and I couldn't find my name on the list of my supposedly precinct. I decided to go home and call COMELEC to confirm my precinct number. I went back at lunch time and as I've thought the line was shorter..but not short enough.

After standing in line for three hours--with the heat, sweat and all--everything was history when I saw "Congratulations! Your vote has been registered." I had She & Him's music to keep my zen. It helped that I have my headset on 'coz I don't have to hear the complaints of the people around me.

I'm trying to be positive but I know my candidate, Richard Gordon, has a slim chance of winning. I really believe in him, and I know he will make a good President. Too bad. But who knows, a miracle might happen. Lol

The worst is yet to come when they start to "count" the votes tonight. Praying for peace and order all over the country. And whoever wins, I pray to God that he (or she, in case its Jamby. Lol) hits the ground running. No time to dilly dally in saving this country's economy! :)

Northeastern ♥

*Holyweek 2010

Anguib Beach..Santa Ana, Cagayan

B-E-A-T-I-F-U-L. It just amazes me that I grew up four hours away from this paradise but have never been here. I wish I took more pictures but we were too busy ogling at the place. One glitch in this trip is the boat ride. It wasn't an easy breezy ride, I was holding on for dear life. But it was all worth it as soon as we were on Anguib. I am definitely going back there! Soon, I hope!

Date, anyone?

This is one movie you wouldn't want to miss. I like how they were able to portray the common scenario in a married life where the passion is lacking and the couple just fall in to a comfortable routine. It's so real What makes this movie great are their chemistry and intelligent& funny lines. I couldn't stop laughing! I think I had a lockjaw from all the laughing. :)

It opens tomorrow, April9. Be sure to catch it. Watch the trailer here.

*Thanks 20th Century for the press screening tix. :)

I live I breathe

Since it's Holy Week, I want to share a song which is apt for the season. It's one of my fave and it never fails to bring me in a worship-y mood.

I live I breathe
by Jon Owens

I didn’t deserve your grace

I didn’t deserve your mercy

But still you took my place

Because you love me

And for you it wasn’t enough to save my soul

To set me free and make me whole

You had a plan for me a destiny for my life

Chorus

So I live to give You glory

And I breathe to give You praise

You paid the ransom for me

And you took away my shame

You said the you delight in me

And I know your word is true

I live, I breathe, I love to worship You

Now I receive your grace

I receive your mercy

Cause I wanna be like You

To follow your heart

And for me it wasn’t enough to take your name

accept your gift and remain the same

I want to honor you and bless you all of my days

So I live to give you glory

And I breathe to give you praise

You paid the ransom for me

And you took away my shame

You said the delight in me

And Iknow your word is true

I live, I breathe, I love to worship you

I worship you, I worship you (2x)

I honor you, I honor you (2x)

So I live to give you glory

And I breathe to give you praise

You paid the ransom for me

And you took away my shame

You said the delight in me

And Iknow your word is true

I live, I breathe, I love to worship you

* Click on the album cover to listen to the song.*

It's officially Summaaaah! :)

I may be in a bad mood today and not excited about going home (for the first time), but I can't wait to explore the islands at the edge of the northeast part of the country.

I've got the most essential thing for an island hopping: sunblock! After a long research, I've decided on Neutrogena's Ultra-Sheer Dry Touch sunblock. It's almost like Armada Sport but way cheaper. Double Yey! Still haven't bought new sunglasses though. Ray Ban aviator, please! ;p

I'll drop my things in Tugue, then immediately go to Santa Ana. It's a sleepy town three hours away from Tugue. There's nothing to see there aside from their beautiful beaches. I'll still be spending a night or maybe two in Tugue otherwise my mom would have a fit. She'll also have a trip of her own in Ilocos so we'll probably spend time together only by Saturday. I miss her and all but we can't be around each other for too long or we'll irritate each other and argue. Lol. It's a fact we've accepted and just laugh about. But I miss my mom and my dad! See, I'm not a bad kid. Lol

Can't wait for the beach. Sun, sand and sea...here I come!

P.S. Have a fun holyweek everyone with your family and friends. But make sure to take time to read your Bible, especially the first four books of the New Testament. Thank God for Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. Repent. Reflect on our spiritual life. Blessed Holy Week people! :)

Barcelonuuuuh!

I remember getting excited when the trailer of Vicky Cristina Barcelona was first released on Apple Movie Trailers. I couldn't wait for it to be released. Then, life got in the way and I totally forgot about the movie until I saw it from Ivee's movie list.

Life is the Ultimate work of art

First five minutes of the movie and I was all inspired and the dreamer in me was aroused. I've always thought I was a European soul. ;p When I was young I used to watch this travel show on Discovery Channel. I always tell my mom that when I grow up I want to be a travel show host and travel all over the world. But I would definitely live in Europe. I'm inlove with their culture. Their lifestyle. Their eccentricity. The country-side. The architectures. Their beautiful homes. The vineyard. The food. The music. The chateaus. Even with the flowers. Their weather. And the fact that trench coat and boots are fashion staple. Lol

I think Spain is one of the most beautiful countries. We were under the Spaniards for more than 300 years, why weren't our ancestors able to adapt their love of art. Our country was given a shot to have a culture as beautiful as theirs. (I know, I know it wasn't all beautiful when we were under their influence. But still. ;p)

I could just imagine myself having wine while a guitar is playing on the background. Going to all the museums. Taking photographs of beautiful buildings. Biking in the countryside. Taking a stroll in the cobble-stoned streets wearing a very thin dress and no one would care. Dining in al fresco restaurants. Having coffee with an artist talking about love and life. Listen to their poems. I may not be able to understand it, but the way it sounds is just beautiful. (I took Spanish in college, but I could never get the accent right. On top of that my professor always mocks the way I say ‘R’. Lol) It seems like everything is romantic. You can see art in every corner. Who wouldn't want that everyday, right?

I think I’m more of a Cristina. Or maybe, I want to be more like Cristina. Because her character is appealing. An artist who has a twisted view on love. Lol. Seriously though, my view on love and relationships are now so different compared to a year ago. I’m still a hopeless romantic, but I don’t look at love in a rainbow-y and flying unicorn way. And I wouldn’t mind being whisked on an impulse by a strange artist. I feel lost and always in a search of something I don’t know.

I'm going to watch it again as soon as I DL subline.com. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are arguing and speaking in Spanish. I can't understand a word and yet I didn't mind 'coz it was just sounds beautiful.

Dreaming of Barcelona, Barcelona, Barcelona. Seriously, nakaka-LSS. Lol. My goal before I turn 40 is to go backpacking around Europe for two months and immerse myself in their culture. That would be the best! :)

Battle of the absurd

I'm talking about the Kris-Ruffa issue...Yeah, I'm keeping the stupid issue alive. But only for five more minutes.

I just encountered this entry from Chuvaness. I didn't know Kris gave out this statement. I was laughing the whole time I was reading it, I just have to share it. Kris is just so histrionic and non-sense at times. Lol. And since we're at it, I was team Ruffa...Read, then lets move on. :))

"I had dinner with Noy tonight after his tv commercial shoot.
He told me di raw ba pwede na may quiet Sunday kami? (two words: duct tape)
And he asked why sya nadamay when he's not even part of the Buzz
I would like to extend a loving hug to Ruffa.
I viewed the tape and although I still feel I gave my comment with affection. (two words: cariño brutal)
Maybe it made her feel even worse because she's moving in a new direction.
We had what I believed was a good working relationship in the almost 2 years we were together on the Buzz.
I can also understand why Ruffa's mom dislikes Noynoy and my family.
Maybe because of association and our vocal proclamation of admiration for Dingdong. (why damay Dingdong when he's not even part of the Buzz?)
And his selfless contribution to help Noy's presidential bid.
It is with Ruffa that I enjoyed a healthy working relationship with.
And I only have good words to say about her.
To Ruffa, I sincerely apologize for causing you hurt.
My brother Noynoy would like to add that we live in a democracy.
One where we are very free to make our own choice for president.
This text came from my sister Pinky : Tomorrow is Women's day. (why damay Women's Month?)
And March is women's month. Fyi, it was mom who passed laws making this possible. (why damay Cory, she's not part of The Buzz?)
(Proclamation No. 224 and 227, both signed in March 1988).
And RA 6949 (signed April 1990 - declares March 8 as National Women's Day. (seriously, anong kinalaman ng Women's Day?)
We celebrate women who triumphed despite odds and need to look at ways to further improve.
That's why I want Ruffa to have a great career ahead of her because she is a woman.
Raising two beautiful daughters, and I champion all women who triumph despite the odds.
Just like my own mom. (Mom na naman??)
Noy told me in any election, we'll have our share of supporters and harshest critics.
And if you can't take the heat, then politics isn't for you.
As a woman, and as Ruffa's mom and the lola of Lorin and Venice, I respect you Tita Anabelle. (meaning, you're freaking scared of Anabelle)
And on behalf of our family, I apologize for the distress we caused yours. (Why damay your entire family? Leave Baby James alone!)
Hindi po ako mayabang, kaya ako nagpapakumbaba ngayon. (kasi may eleksyon)
On a last note, I promised Noy that if he does WIN, and I'm a cause of stress for him and his presidency..
I will gladly take my two boys to live anywhere there's TFC. (can we have that notarized? wait. hindi ba kasama si James?)
So that I can continue to work but with our Overseas Filipino brothers and sisters. (I'm sure you think of them a LOT)
Of course Noy said - dinner daw yun - hindi teleserye ko. (the world is your teleserye, Kris)
I love my family and I'm so grateful to have such a supportive and grounded brother and sisters, (sic)
Who have learned to love me for what I am. (and they deserve a medal, like James and your mom)
Thank you for your time and may god bless all of us with a peaceful weekend."
(you need a peaceful MONTH. please go on a retreat Kris. Samahan pa kita. NOT. xoxo!)

Nostalgic

I was in a restobar last night when Nikki Hassman's Any Lucky Penny suddenly played. I was transported back to my teen years in an instant. A time when everything was carefree. When summer afternoons were spent at the porch dreaming of the impossible. A time when feelings are raw and everything is new. Aaaww, the days! I feel old! Lol. (I think they got their playlist mixed up and realized the mistake after a minute, they went back to playing Sean Kingston. Lol)

Am being nostalgic and now am listening to songs from late 90's/early 2000's. Lemme share a some of my fave. Hope you enjoy! :))

It's been a year

“It’s when I’m standing six feet away from you and not being able to find the words to tell you how much I love you and how much I miss you that I want to just scream to the whole room that I’m still in love with you. It’s when I’m sitting alone with the phone in my hand dialing your number and hanging up that I would trade a thousand tomorrows for just one yesterday. Then I could just call you to tell you goodnight. It’s when I am really sad about something and need someone to talk to that I realize you’re the only one who really knew me at all. It’s when I cry myself to sleep at night and it hits me how much I would give to hold you at that very moment. It’s when I think about you that I realize no one else in the world is meant for me.”

Exactly this day last year I admitted defeat and raised the white flag on us. They say it takes half the time of the relp to really get over the relp. I hope that's not true. I'm still not "there" though, but I'm trying. It's hard when there's friendship beyond the romantic relp. It's harder when you say you still love me, and she's nothing more than just a distraction. It's like I want to get a hammer and pound it repeatedly on your head. I'm just glad that I'm no longer in the stage where I want to cry every time I think of you and have the the biggest inkling to get back with you. But I'm still not in the stage where I no longer think of you almost everyday. Nor am I in that stage where don't I palpitate (though I try to look indifferent) when I hear your name. I know I can't totally erase you from my life, but I know one day I'll have every piece of my heart back in place to be in a sane relationship.

The Burger edition

Johnny Rockets

This place is probably the most overrated place..ever! It's a franchise from a famous US burger chain. They got everything. From the jukebox, dancing crew, the b&w tiles, the famous malt shake, the diner feel, etc. I just think that paying Php 500 for that meal wasn't worth it. I could get that taste from Wham burger, brother's burger or even burger avenue. It doesn't have that lingering taste which will make you come back again and again.

Sango!

This unassuming (healthy) burger place in Rockwell is an experience. There's manga magazine which you can browse while waiting for your order. The TV plays a japanese show, they even show japs commercials which are quite funny. Prices range from Php250-350.

Monster's quarter pounder burger, blueberry yogurt shake, chicken empanada....from Legazpi Sunday market. All these three for only Php150. Perfect! Legazpi market is becoming a weekly thing. After a few rounds of jogging at Legazpi park, we would head to the sunday market for breakfast. It's a must to try new everytime. I had wagyu shawarma this morning for only Php180. The yogurt shake has become a staple every sunday though. :))

What burger place should I try next?

On Percy Jackson, Julie & Julia, etc

I gotta say, this movie was better than I thought it would be. Or maybe because I didn't give it too much thought until I was handed the free tickets. (By the way, thanks to 20th Century for the free tix.) I've been seeing the books in bookstore for the longest time but I thought it was like a Harry Potter copycat coz the book cover sure looks like Harry Potter's. Well, the concept of half-blood is there. In HP it's called muggles, in Percy Jackson it's called demi-gods. Oh yeah, instead of wizards, there's Greek gods and myths in there. Sounds interesting, eh? The movie was entertaining, it has its moments and I'm actually interested in reading the series. :)

I've watched Meryl Streep movies on dibidi, like, two weeks ago. I just couldn't wait. And once again, she deserves to win the Oscar's this year. As much as I want Sandra Bullock to have her moment, Streep's performance in Julie & Julia was just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The movie wasn't the best, but her acting is on a totally different level. It's just superb!!! Watch It's Complicated (I feel like she was playing herself with that movie. Lol), then just right after that, watch Julie & Julia and you'll just be amazed by her. Then go back to one of her old movies, Postcards from the Edge, and you'll end up wondering if she's a real person. She's bigger than life. I love her!!!

A friend also gave me a dibidi of The Lovely Bones. It will be released in cinemas next week, but I checked the first few minutes of the movie when he gave it to me but the copy is pretty really clear. Well, it was released in the US earlier this year (was it? It was, right?) I'm so tempted to pop that dibidi in the player, but I want to watch it (for the first time) on the big screen. I've been waiting for the movie the moment I flipped the last page of the book. Fine, fine. I'll wait for it on the big screen. Ilang tulog nalang!

It's the Oscar season again. What sucks is that some of the movies won't be shown in the big screen until after the award show is over. But..but...but...I have friends who already have the movies. So, it's burn-me-a-DVD season. Yeah, I do piracy, sue me!

Ooops, I take that back. Please don't! Lol. :))

I feel like I'm cheating....

...on Gordon. Lol.

I just feel guilty 'coz I've been saying recently that I might vote for Noynoy just for the fact that he is the lesser of two evil. Between Villar and Noynoy, that is. These two have the winnabilty factor. The election would seem like a Villar vs Aquino game. Gordon has a slim chance of winning albeit being the most competent (I believe) leader. Gibo is also competent, but I'm not quite sure he is ready. And of course, I'm dicey on the PGMA connection. If you know what I mean.

Now, should I base my choice on who has the bigger chance of winning? I've said before that I was skeptic with Noynoy because it seems like he was served with a plate he really didn't order. He seems lost and so not ready for the part. But he seems sincere in creating a clean government. He seems sincere in serving the people. But it also seems like he is at the beck and call of his relatives and advisers. It seems that just like late Cory Aquino's, he will be a puppet president.

Is it really a waste of vote if I opt for Gordon even if he is not as popular as the other candidates? He has the most tangible achievements. And I believe he could really change the government. Hmmm. I'm still torn. But I feel like I'm cheating on my vote if I vote solely on winnability.

I know a lot of people who also wants Gordon for president but just like me, they also think that their vote will be wasted because he will not win. But if everyone who has this kind of thinking would just vote for Gordon, maybe he would win. Now, that's something. :)

How about you, who will you vote for?

A remake I like

I may not be a big fan of the "actual" remake of We Are The World, but I luurrve this. Not overdone, very cute! :)

I know my grammar!

While taking the mini-quiz I was actually thinking if everything was a joke. My 7-yr old cousin could have taken that quiz and get it all right. Still, it was fun. Wondering if I would be stupid to get an answer wrong, luckily, I didn't! Yay! Hahaha.

On We are the World

Everyone has got something to say so I'm gonna throw in my two cents worth of opinion. I didn't like it. (I have to agree with Jay Z) "We are the world" is one of the untouchable songs. A legend sang it, no one could sing it better. Not even 85 artists pooled in together can. The original was made a year before I was born and it wasn't until I was 9 or 10 when I first heard the song. It sent chills up my bones. I was literally close to tears. That time when my fave artists were Green Day and Spice Girls. When I heard the remake, it didn't move me at all. There was something missing in the song. Well, when I watched the music video, sure I was touched coz of the clips of Haitians. But if I just listen to the song, it's....blah!

Then again, they did the song for charity and not to win a Grammy. So I'm just gonna shut up! Lol :))

Maybe, also, it has something to do with the fact that I'm usually not a big fan of remakes. Sure, there are a couple of good remakes every now and then, but generally I don't like remakes. Especially if I love the original. That's why I can't be an uber big fan of Glee. And why I think Nina should stop doing remakes and make proper use of her talent by singing original songs. If artist sing it on ASAP, no problem, but if they make an album full of remakes that's another story. I mean c'mon, Sarah, Juris, Nina, Jed Madela and others are great singers and I think it's about time they stop singing remakes. They've made their point, they're great singers, now be a great artist too.

.

Not everything that feels right is RIGHT. Not because it's a game doesn't mean that it won't cause serious damage. Three years ago, we would have made sense. But that was then. To continue this would be unfair...to both of us. It was fun at first, but now the drama is slowly creeping in. I'm still trying to get out from the last web, don't get me tangled into a new one.

I might have said one time that I miss falling in love. But that's the only part I wanted. The dreamy part. Not the reality.

We both said we wanted easy breezy didn't we, Z?

xx

7:30 Pm Timeslot

For the longest time, TV 5's Talentadong Pinoy was the highest in rating during Saturday's 7:30 PM timeslot. It was actually the bread and butter show of TV5. ABS-CBN and GMA couldn't bring it down. So, ABS-CBN bought the franchise and had the Pinas Got Talent on the same time slot.

You have Kris as one of the judges. And we all know that she can pull the ratings up whatever show she's part of. You've got Ai Ai for the funny part. And FMG will take care of the credibility part. Billy & Luis are both great hosts. GMA, of course, wouldn't want to be out of the loop. So the created...Bitoy's ShowwwwTime.

Hmmm. Sounds familiar, eh? Oh yeah, ABS-CBN has a show called, Showtime. Well my opinion on Bitoy's Showwwwtime? Ang Pangeeeet! Michael V is a funny and great host. You would think that would make up a good show right? They placed sexy and pretty girls, albeit irrelevant, beside him. Then they add terrible costumes, "tribe" concept and slapstick comedy. Mix them all together and it creates a terrible show. Sheesh! GMA really needs new and creative writers and producers.

After seeing Pinas Got Talent and Bitoy's ShowwwTime, we still opted for Talentadong Pinoy. I'm still a Kapamilya though, don't worry! :)
