On the way home from a client, I passed by a book sale shop with an Alice Sebold book in the display window I decided to go in and take a look. I never had much luck in book sales before...until yesterday! I was able to buy three books, two of which are hard bound and in very good condition. Isn't that great??
I loved Fielding's first book of Bridget Jones albeit being shallow, so I didn't think twice when I saw the hard bound version of Edge of Reason. Alice Sebold's Almost Noon is almost new. There are no folds in the pages, no marks on the front cover. And it's only Php 120! I liked Lovely Bones, I hope this one would be too. The best buy would be Michael Cunningham's The Hours. I saw it when about to leave the shop. For its value, it was way underpriced. They were only selling it for 40 effin pesos. I guess they didn't know how great the book is!
**Nothing beats the smell of books, whether new or old. I always smell the pages before reading it. That's why I was never a fan of e-books. I just think I'm cheating on the books. Well, that's just me.
